Valiant Warriors

April 25, 2007

The Purple Heart is a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those who have been wounded or killed while serving in the U.S. military.
We as a nation cannot stand by and not fund our American men and women of the Armed Forces that are in harms way. The Supplementary Bill must be passed and a solution must come forward. Though our political parties may disagree about timetables, we as a democracy cannot afford to let our troops not be adequately protected. It will be the demise of our democracy to sacrifice more than 150,000 troops for a political position. If a political party does not have the political power to achieve its directives, it must compromise.

Because a portion of the resources going into the Supplementary Bill are being used for ballistic missile defense of our troops to protect them from the current short range missile threats, MDAA will stand strong and advocate for the closure and compromise that will give our Armed Forces the needed and required protection requested by their combatant commanders.

MDAA had the honor of visiting our valiant wounded warriors from Walter Reed and it is humbling that those that serve have sacrificed more than any one of us for this country. Though seeing wounded soldiers is devastating, we have the moral duty to protect them as much as possible.

We ask you to contact President Bush, Senator Harry Reid and Representative Nancy Pelosi to make your voice heard.
