“.. We will deploy.initial capabilities that will evolve.2004 and 2005 will include ground-based interceptors, sea-based interceptors, additional Patriot (PAC-3) units, and sensors on land, at sea and in space”
– President George W. Bush, NSPD-23, December 16, 2002

Dear Members and Friends,

In anticipation of an announcement for a deployed and operational missile defense system this year, MDAA provides a simple, concise format of all the current systems that are scheduled to be deployed in 2005, as well as future systems being proposed. Thus, it provides awareness to our membership, our leadership, our advocacy and to the American public on the initial foundation of an evolving multi-layer robust missile defense system that will protect our country, our communities and our allies from ballistic missiles from every range and origin. These initial deployments are limited in scope and will serve primarily as test beds as the United States continues to master and evolve the technology to enhance its ability to defend itself from the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
