India Leading

April 19, 2012

Dear Members and Friends,

India has successfully tested and launched a three-stage long range ballistic missile, Agni V, that is capable of carrying one or more of their nuclear warheads up to 3,000 miles. This enables India to threaten and deter its regional neighbor and world power China as well as others within that range. Four or five more tests are required before Agni V becomes integrated in India’s ballistic missile fleet in the 2014 to 2015 time frame.

This demonstration of long-range ballistic missile proliferation in the region of the world that divides Asia from the Middle East sends a significant message of self-reliance and independence to project power and defend its homeland and territory from growing external threats. This movement of proliferation shows India is not reliant on the United States military or diplomatic assurances and United Nations Security Resolutions to protect its people and government.

India sets a powerful lead to all those regional powers it surrounds that have and are seeking to have long-range ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons.
