Master Sergeant Wilburn is currently assigned as the 1C571D Battle Management Operations/Capabilities and Requirements, NCOIC.

Master Sergeant Wilburn has displayed unparalleled leadership and expertise, orchestrating two AFNORTH and ACC technical refresh conferences with exceptional coordination across four working groups.

His efforts in capturing operation and maintenance priorities streamlined decision-making, resulting in a $16 million-dollar camera system lay down and enhanced surveillance prioritization for NORAD.  As the driving force behind the fielding of four $450,000 mission system upgrades, he led 23 test events and synchronized developmental efforts among multiple sectors and engineers, earning accolades from the 1 AF CCM and a unit SNCO of the 3rd Quarter award. MSgt Wilburn’s role as a mission systems expert at the Joint Program Review showcased his commitment to innovation and joint development goals across 15 homeland defense agencies. 

In instructional roles, he led 103 Florida Joint Task Force and Ohio Air Defense Battalion’s Culmination Training Events, certifying 95 deployed soldiers and earning a well-deserved SNCO of the 1st Quarter award. Meticulous oversight of a $95,000 Government Purchase Account showcased his financial management acumen, ensuring operational success and compliance with DoD directives.

MSgt Wilburn’s support for major events and unification efforts, along with his dedication to fitness initiatives and mental health awareness, has left an indelible mark on unit culture. Organizing a “Biggest Loser” competition, securing gym equipment, and leading discussions during Suicide Prevention Month underscore his commitment to unit well-being. 

In educational endeavors, he taught two First Term Airman Courses, mentoring 30 Airmen on Unconscious Bias and leadership principles, contributing significantly to the development of future leaders. Master Sergeant Wilburn’s multifaceted achievements exemplify his exceptional contributions to the CONR/NORAD mission, making him a standout nominee for recognition.
