The Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance held its inaugural National Capital Region Air & Missile Defender of the Year Award Ceremony in Alexandria, Virginia on Friday, March 30th, honoring those members of the 1-188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, North Dakota Army National Guard; the 678th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, South Carolina Army National Guard; and the 224th Air Defense Group Detachment 1, New York Air National Guard, who operate the Sentinel, NASAMS, Avenger, and Command & Control systems at the Joint Air Defense Operations Command (JADOC) responsible for defending the U.S. National Capital Region.
