The Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance held its fourth annual NORAD and USNORTHCOM Missile Warning and Defender of the Year Award Ceremony in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Friday June 3, 2016. The event honored Missile Defenders from USNORTHCOM and servicemen from the United States and Canada involved in Missile Warning for NORAD. These servicemen demonstrated outstanding leadership excellence in missile defense and missile warning for the year 2016 and directly contributed to the security of the United States and Canada.

Speaking and presenting awards at the event were Major General Roger Mathews, Ret., Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Pacific; Lieutenant General Pierre St-Amand, Deputy Commander of NORAD; Lieutenant General Daniel R. Hokanson, Deputy Commander of NORTHCOM; Brigadier General Gregory S. Bowen, Deputy Commanding General for Operations of USASMDC/ARSTRAT; and Captain William Johnson, Deputy Commander JFCC-IMD.
