Greece: IDE signs new contract for Patriot air defense systems

Continuing the long and successful participation in the manufacturing of Patriot air defense system IDE (INTRACOM Defense Electronics), the leading defense electronics and communication systems manufacturer in Greece, signed a new contract with Raytheon.

The current agreement is worth USD 38.1 million and is scheduled to be completed by July 2020. IDE will allocate significant part of the project to other Greek companies, thus positively contributing in the industrial production of our country. With this contract IDE based on its capabilities, consistency, quality and cost competitiveness further enhances and solidifies its international presence and orientation.

The MIM-104 Patriot is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, the primary of its kind used by the United States Army and several allied nations. Patriot uses an advanced aerial interceptor missile and high performance radar systems. The Patriot system is modular and highly mobile. A battery-sized element can be emplaced in less than 1 hour. Patriot systems have been sold to Taiwan, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Spain.
