Ukraine’s military targeted the Afipsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai — one of southern Russia’s largest refineries — overnight on Nov. 29, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported.

The strike targeted a key logistics hub, located about 200 kilometers (124 miles) from the front line, that supplies diesel fuel and aviation kerosene to Russian forces fighting in Ukraine.

“Explosions were recorded in the target area, followed by a fire at the facility,” the military said.

The Krasnodar Region Operational Headquarters confirmed a blaze on the refinery’s grounds, saying it covered roughly 250 square meters (2,691 square feet). Local officials claimed that only technological equipment was damaged and that storage tanks were not affected.
