Pak leadership not ready to compromise on N-missile programme

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will unambiguously tell Washington that Islamabad will not compromise in any manner on its indigenous nuclear and missile technology.

A source, privy to these high-level discussions, told ‘The News’ that the US wants to offer a deal which, if accepted, would seriously compromise Pakistan’s defence and security capabilities.

The source said that during the forthcoming meeting between President Obama and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Washington wanted to offer nuclear energy deal to Islamabad but in return was desirous of blocking and hurting Pakistan’s nuclear and missile technology.

Pakistan’s exceptional achievements in the field of nuclear and missile technology are seriously aching its enemies, including India. The United States, which in disregard to Pakistan’s security concerns vis-à-vis India, has already signed a civil nuclear deal with New Dehli besides offering it advance technology but is trying to trap Pakistan in a “give-and-take deal” that, if accepted by Islamabad, would seriously compromise country’s defence security…
