North Korea poses one of the “most concerning” ballistic missile threats to the United States, along with Russia, Iran, and China, according to report issued by the US Congressional Research Service (CRS).

Published on 9 October, the document states that Pyongyang likely has an arsenal of “hundreds” of short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) that can reach all of South Korea and “perhaps dozens” of medium-range ballistic missiles (MRBMs) – the reliability of which remains uncertain at this point – capable of reaching Japan and US military bases in the region.
