China’s media mouthpiece has doubled down on an ominous threat only days after saying missiles would be launched at “Australian soil”.

Hu Xijin, the editor-in-chief of state-run media outlet The Global Times, tweeted the warning on Friday.

His comments were in response to a News Corp headline reading: “ScoMo says preparing for war with China is doing his job.”

“Preparing for war?” Hu wrote.

“Then build an anti-missile system!”…
