The MiceTimes of Asia:
Chinese Academy of space technologies is developing “smart” missile that will be able itself to repair in flight, and set a new course if necessary, report news agencies. As planned by Chinese planners, the missile will be able to perceive external factors, assess the situation, to set goals and to make adjustments to the flight plan, reports “Xinhua”.
It is expected that the missile will be able to choose the flight plan, based on the received information. If the missile when reaching the planned orbit will reveal themselves a non-fatal fault, it would itself take action to solve problems, for example, to enter a special orbit for the return to base.
Chief designer Gao lei said that “a normal missile can not cope with the task” if there is any problem with the engine. “Normal” rocket “may fall to earth or collide with anything,” he said. Designer Shan Tan said that the launch of “smart” missiles would be cheaper than launching conventional missiles. In his opinion, in the future, all rockets will be to adapt to the “smart” missiles.
