A years-long tug-of-war over a key missile defense tracking program has taken another turn, as the Space Development Agency (SDA) is moving to develop its own high-precision space-based sensors for targeting adversary hypersonic missiles — instead of simply procuring sensors designed by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS) program.
