WWNYTV – There were some tough words from north country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as she demands an answer from the Department of Defense as to its preferred site for an East Coast missile defense.
In the House Armed Services Committee Wednesday, Stefanik noted that back in March, the acting Secretary of Defense said he would share the designation with the committee.
But, it hasn’t happened.
“Let me make it perfectly clear. It is our expectation that we will hear from the Secretary of Defense, what the preferred site is. You have three communities who’ve worked incredibly hard to advocate on behalf of this. One of mine is Fort Drum which I believe is the strongest community to be the preferred site,” said Stefanik.
