MBDA: New concept of mobile air defense missile system based on Boxer 8×8 armored

MBDA, a leader in the production of missile system, has unveiled a new concept of mobile air defense system based on Boxer 8×8 armored vehicle fitted with a launcher pod with 8 individual container that could launched a new stretched version of the Brimstone air-to-surface missile.

The concept of this new mobile air defense missile system was unveiled in September 2018 by MBDA during the DVD, Defence Vehicle Dynamics that was held in Millbrook, United Kingdom. According to MBDA, the missile could be based on existing products manufactured by MBDA, as the Brimstone and Spear missiles, as well as the Common Anti-air Modular Missile (CAMM).

Brimstone is an air-launched ground attack missile developed by MBDA for Britain’s Royal Air Force. It was originally intended for “fire-and-forget” use against mass formations of enemy armour, using a millimetric wave (mmW) active radar homing seeker to ensure accuracy even against moving targets.
