Armenia launched Russian-made Iskander missiles into Azerbaijan during the fighting over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, a top military official said — a day after he resigned his post.

The short-range missile, which has been fired only rarely in combat, “was used during the war, though I will not say where,” Colonel-General Movses Hakobyan told reporters on Thursday in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, after he had stood down as head of the Defense Ministry’s military control service.
