Tech Alabama:
Lockheed Martin is providing more details on its plans to bring 100 jobs to Huntsville as a part of its Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program.
C2BMC director J.D. Hammond tells Tech Alabama the global security giant plans to make many of these hires within the next year in an effort to consolidate facilities and increase its program presence in Huntsville.
“The program had about 50 resources in Huntsville and by mid-summer 2016 that number will at least double,” says Hammond.
Most of the 100 job additions will be for new positions as opposed to transplants, and company leaders say Huntsville’s high-tech workforce was one of the many reasons why it decided to relocate the jobs to the Rocket City. New hires will primarily work in high-level technical positions. According to the company website, C2BMC is the critical integrating command and control function that enables the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).
How can you apply for a job? No C2BMC positions are currently listed on the company website. Hammond says there are no organized events scheduled as of this moment, but that is subject to change.
“While there are no plans at this time to conduct large job fairs, as the staffing need increases we will certainly participate in job fairs in the community.”
