WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US defense contractor Raytheon has won a $700 million service and product contract for several US missile defense facilities, the US Defense Department said in a statement.
“The contractor [Raytheon] will provide sustainment services and products supporting the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract covered systems,” the Defense Department said on Monday.
“The program provides ITW/AA authorities with accurate, timely and unambiguous warning and attack assessment of air, missile and space threats,” it added.
The service and product contract will be carried out at the Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado, the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station in Colorado, the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and the Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.
The program is expected to be completed by 2020.
The ITW/AA is the worldwide missile warning and surveillance system with air, land and space-based systems.
