US Army awards $551m Raytheon contract for Patriot system for Bahrain

The US Army has awarded a contract to Raytheon to commence production of Patriot air and missile defense system for the Kingdom of Bahrain. Awarded in January this year, the contract is valued at $551m.

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems business Integrated Air and Missile Defense vice-president Tom Laliberty said: “Raytheon’s Patriot provides the Kingdom of Bahrain and 16 other countries around the globe with a combat-proven system that protects citizens, infrastructure and armed forces from a broad spectrum of threats.

“Patriot works, has saved countless lives, and will continue to do so for many years because the system is constantly tested, modernised, upgraded and improved to stay ahead of the advancing threat.”
