Anadolu Agency:

Turkey’s defense systems producer, ASELSAN, will be part of the team involved in the NATO Ballistic Missile Defense program, the company announced Monday.

In February, the NATO Communications and Information Agency awarded a contract worth up to $77 million to Leidos, a U.S. company specializing in defense, to provide systems engineering and integration support for the Ballistic Missile Defense program.

In the statement, ASELSAN said it would work with eight other team members from Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the U.K. and the U.S.

“Being a developer of the system architecture for future Ballistic Missile Defense requirements, ASELSAN ensures NATO and team-members that ASELSAN is committed to transfer know-how gained in the field of Ballistic Missile Defense in full service of NATO, its agencies and member states,”  the company added.

Under the contract, Leidos will deliver the NATO Ballistic Missile Defense capability, including Ballistic Missile Defense enhancements to the NATO Communications and Information systems, refinement and maintenance of the NATO Ballistic Missile Defense architecture.

The project will be executed at the premises of the NATO Communications and Information Agency in the Netherlands, the statement added.
