C4ISR & Networks:

Northrop Grumman has introduced a new battle command system for air and missile defense.

The Citadel Enterprise system is a mobile command system designed with cybersecurity in mind, according to a Northrop Grumman news release. “Citadel uses the most recent and rigorous military standards to implement cybersecurity for mitigating the latest cyber threats,” the company said.

It also uses a modular systems approach and off-the-shelf components. “The Citadel Enterprise Battle Command System is fortified with cybersecurity and designed for today’s net-centric battlespace,” said Dan Verwiel, vice president of the air and missile defense division at Northrop Grumman Information Systems. “It is also designed for enduring protection with total system life cycle affordability and the ability to upgrade for adapting to evolving threats.”

The system was unveiled at the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2015 in late February.
