UPI:

Dec. 20 (UPI) — The U.S. Navy has awarded a $46.5 million contract modification to Orbital Sciences Corporation, picking up an option for the company to produce 15 Lot 13 GQM-163A Coyote supersonic sea skimming target base vehicles.

One of those vehicles will be sent to the Army for use testing and evaluating the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor, Limited User Test target system.

The Coyotes are projectiles used in training to resemble Russian- or Chinese-launched anti-ship missiles.

Orbital will work on the order in various locations across Arizona, Arkansas, Vermont, Pennsylvania and California. The Defense Department said Wednesday it expects the order to be filled by December 2022.
