Missile Defense Agency releases results of environmental impact study of Fort Custer

AUGUSTA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – West Michigan is one step closer to a possible major missile defense system.

This week, the Missile Defense Agency released the results of its environmental impact study.

On Wednesday, the commander who oversees Fort Custer, in Augusta, spoke with Newschannel 3.

Fort Custer is one of the locations being considered for this possible ballistic missile defense site.

No decision has been made as of yet but we’re told Fort Custer held its own on this environmental impact survey.

Fort Custer could one day be home to a missile defense system that would protect the United States. It’s not something the Department of Defense takes lightly. This week, the DOD’s Missile Defense Agency released its preliminary environmental impact survey
