Lockheed Martin has developed an active electronically scanned array radar system designed for use with the U.S. Army’s integrated air and missile defense platform.
The company said Monday it will showcase the AESA Radar for Engagement and Surveillance demonstrator at the three-day Space & Missile Defense Symposium that will kick off Tuesday in Huntsville, Alabama.
Lockheed will use the ARES radar demonstrator as basis for its potential offering for the service branch’s Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense Sensor competition that seeks to replace the Patriot MPQ-65 radar to counter air and ballistic missile threats.
