McAlester News:
U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe has not wavered in his strong opposition to another round of military base closures or realignments by BRAC, the Base Realignment and Closure Commission — especially with threats from North Korea and others.
Far from reducing its military, Inhofe thinks the U.S. needs to bolster its missile defense mechanisms as North Korea continues to move forward on its missile program. “They have the horsepower to get one all the way to McAlester, Oklahoma,” Inhofe said of North Korean missiles.
The senator said the North Koreans did not have the capability prior to last Nov. 28 — but now he thinks they do. He has little use for arguments that North Korean missiles may be inaccurate or for dismissive statements regarding what size payload North Korean missiles can handle.
