Ohio GOP Rep. Mike Turner, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, told FNC’s Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures”:

BARTIROMO: Let’s start with that Putin threatening speech on Friday and the U.S.’ response to these threats so far. How do you characterize all of that?

TURNER: Well, Maria, this — as you look at this speech, you certainly see that this is a speech that probably reflects more of Putin’s thinking than even others.

You actually get a sense of how he’s seething. And he lays all of his ills to the West and even says that the West is seeking the destruction of Russia. As you know, the West doesn’t really care, other than, Russia, don’t kill innocent people, don’t invade your neighbors, and don’t use weapons of mass destruction.

And that’s where we find ourselves today is these threats of using of nuclear weapons. This administration needs to step up its game on missile defense. We have assets in Europe. We need to engage them so that they can provide protection to our allies, and including Ukraine. We need to move other missile defense assets into the area, so that we’re not just a casual observer if Putin makes good on these threats and we see a catastrophic use of weapons of mass destruction by Putin.
