Efforts to bolster missile defense capabilities on Guam made some headway in 2023, with the Missile Defense Agency notifying the public of plans to develop an environmental impact statement on the proposed 360-degree Enhanced Integrated Air and Missile Defense System. This initiated a scoping period to gather input on the proposal, which lasted from early May 2023 through mid-August 2023.
