After a series of North Korean ballistic-missile launches, President Donald Trump in August vowed his administration would boost funding for missile defense by “billions of dollars.”
Already in the midst of a ballistic missile defense review expected to wrap up by year-end, the Pentagon was directed to look at what could be done in the near term. The first results of president’s push are now visible, with Congress approving the transfer of $367 million from other programs.
