University of Hawai‘i ARTEMIS Executive Program ’25-‘26

The University of Hawai‘i, in collaboration with the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance, is thrilled to announce the launch of the ARTEMIS Executive Program ’25. This program, titled Advanced Reconnaissance and Tracking for Environmental Monitoring and Indo-Pacific Security (ARTEMIS), is designed for professionals in space operations and technology innovation. It aims to enhance workforce development through a rigorous, application-based curriculum that emphasizes Hawai‘i’s strategic role in national security. ARTEMIS positions Hawai‘i as an emerging hub for space and STEM, integrating core curriculum with specialized content tailored to participants’ capstone projects.

The program will run from August 22, 2025, to April 2026. Sessions will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturday sessions concluding in the mid-afternoon. The program will take place in Hawai‘i. Participants are required to attend all sessions and complete a capstone project.  

The curriculum of ARTEMIS includes cutting-edge topics such as the development of state-of-the-art detection technologies, small satellite systems, SAR and microwave remote sensing, launch capabilities, orbital constellations, space maneuver, space weather, AI, and machine learning. It also covers data security, communications, sensor networks, data visualization, 3D LED, immersive HMI, and space domain awareness enablers, along with their uncertainties.

Participants will engage in capstone projects that tackle significant challenges, including the evolution of America’s Golden Dome and its transformation into a Pacific Ally and Partner, the utilization of CUBESAT for sensor and effector applications, immersive command and control visualization, the effectiveness of data distribution using commercial technology, and the implications of prepositioned logistics in space.
