London, England

It is an honor for MDAA to Chair the 7th Air and Missile Defense Technology Conference on November 15th and 16th in London, an international conference on integrated missile defense that includes representatives from our NATO allies. The conference comes at a critical juncture between the July 2023 NATO summit in Lithuania, and the upcoming summit in Washington D.C. in July 2024. An integrated missile defense architecture for NATO and Europe must be on the agenda.

The conference has assembled some of the best and brightest leaders from across the integrated missile defense enterprise and from our NATO member states to discuss this most critical challenge facing the Alliance and our non-aligned European partners. MDAA will lead discussions on three key topic areas: 1. Lessons from the war in Ukraine we can learn and apply to the larger European problem set; 2. Identifying key components of a fully integrated NATO and European missile defense architecture with the ability to counter the full spectrum of threats from any actor on any axis, including UAVs, cruise and ballistic missiles, and hypersonics glide vehicles, and; 3. Establishing the proper roles and responsibilities required to implement and execute integrated missile defense of NATO and Europe.

The clock is ticking. We cannot remain blind to the critical need for air and missile defense across NATO and the European continent. It is a testament to the leading role MDAA and our members play in the world of missile defense that we have been chosen to Chair this seminal event and lead several key panels. The United States, the NATO alliance, and our non-aligned European partners cannot sit back and wait for change to happen. Our adversaries understand time is a resource. We must not waste ours.

MDAA is honored to help facilitate this strategic conference. In London, we will be bringing together a coalition of the willing to push for and accelerate the change required to improve the NATO and European missile defense enterprise.

It is of note to have US Brigadier General Frank Lozano, Programme Executive Officer Missiles and Space, US Army and Air, and Brigadier General Maurice Barnett, Commander, 10th Army Air and Missile Defence Command, US Army attending and presenting at the conference.
