Dear Members and Friends,
We brought our 2023-24 Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance Season to a close with our 22nd Annual Huntsville Breakfast of Champions earlier this month. MDAA has demonstrated its leadership and impact across the missile defense enterprise in our Nation and throughout the World. From August 2023 through July 2024, we have championed the cause of missile defense through relentless advocacy, strategic partnerships, and unwavering commitment to our mission.
2023 – 2024 WINS:
- 107 Missile Defender of the Year Recipients: From 6 different nations, we acknowledge the achievements of those who have excelled in their Leadership contributing to the security of our nation and of our allied nations.
- 72 Base Visits: Engaging directly with our warfighters, understanding their requirements and advocating for the resources and capabilities they require.
- 61 Alerts/Press Releases: Keeping our members and the public informed on the latest developments in missile defense and our ongoing efforts to advocate policy and resource allocation.
- 42 Speeches: Amplifying our message to key stakeholders and the broader community, ensuring that missile defense remains a top priority for national security.
- 25 USC Shield Graduates: Developing the next generation of missile defense leaders through our SHIELD program, equipping them with the relationships, the network, the knowledge, the skills and trust to lead in this critical mission set.
- 21 States/Territories Advocated: Expanding our reach and influence across the country, advocating for missile defense in every corner of the United States.
- 17 Missile Defense Demonstration Tests: Leading, organizing and implementing cutting edge innovative technology demonstrations on test ranges in 3 different nations.
- 8 Missile Defender Recognition Events: Recognizing and honoring the exceptional contributions of our warfighters and allies in advancing missile defense.
- 8 Countries Advocated in: Ensuring that our allies receive the support and resources necessary to bolster their missile defense capabilities.
- 7 Congressional Roundtables: Facilitating critical discussions on missile defense policy, strategic and tactical strategy for our nation and our Allies.
- 6 USC Shield Capstones: Completed and put forward into Courses of Action.
- 4 Conferences and Forums Created: Leading the advocacy on missile defense around the world London, Poland, the United States.
- 3rd SHIELD Global Space & Defense Program Completed: Founded at USC in 2022, this program is leading the future of missile defense and space.
- 1 AETOS Near Space Studies Program: Established in 2023 with the University of Arizona, advancing missile defense in near space.
- 1 ARTEMIS Program: Established in 2023 with the University of Hawaii, advancing space air water and land sensors and data sharing in the Pacific region.
MDAA’s mission is to make the world safer by advocating for the development and deployment of missile defense systems to defend the United States, its armed forces and its allies against missile threats.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing missile defense capabilities with relevance and urgency.
