Today we celebrate our country, our people, our history, and our future. This country was founded 243 years ago to champion and defend the freedoms and the rights of mankind that enable our American way of life and shed the light of democracy around the world. Our country stands as the bastion of liberty, the amelioration of diversity, and the light of freedom in the world. We are grateful to live in America.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed… We… solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states… And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.” – Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776

We honor all the men and women that tirelessly defend our nation and we highlight a few of those that defend the United States Homeland as they did 243 years ago. As we celebrate today rest assured that we have a well-trained military force with proven operational capability deployed to defend our nation and forward deployed troops who defend our freedoms. From Ground-Based Interceptors and Sensors in Alaska and California; to Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) in Colorado; to Patriot and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) batteries in Texas, North Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, and Guam; to National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) and Sentinel radars in the National Capital Region; to Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) ships based out of ports in Hawaii, California, Virginia, Florida; and the Sea-Based X-Band (SBX) radar based out of Hawaii.

We are very fortunate to live in a well defended nation to enjoy the freedoms, liberties and pursuit of happiness that are forefathers bestowed upon this nation in their creation of it.

Mission Statement

MDAA’s mission is to make the world safer by advocating for the development and deployment of missile defense systems to defend the United States, its armed forces and its allies against missile threats.

MDAA is the only organization in existence whose primary mission is to educate the American public about missile defense issues and to recruit, organize, and mobilize proponents to advocate for the critical need of missile defense. We are a non-partisan membership-based and membership-funded organization that does not advocate on behalf of any specific system, technology, architecture or entity.
