2015 DOY Award Recipients

Dear Members and Friends,

Against the backdrop of growing complexity in the world today highlighted by North Korea’s nuclear test this past week, we took the time to recognize and bring honor to the very best United States Missile Defender from the United States Army, Air Force, Navy and National Guard in 2015. These Warfighters operate and command missile defense systems in the defense of our nation and the world at large, making us safe from the threat of ballistic missiles. This recognition of excellence in the growing sustainment of leadership across different regions and different missile defense platforms around the world reflects a world championship culture within the fighting units from the enlisted service members to the commanding officers and across the four U.S. military services involved in the missile defense mission.

In pursuit of the defense of our nation, our allies and our troops overseas, it remains and will always be about winning to put forth the best capability available under whatever conditions arise through the leadership based on trust against the threat. This critical winning championship culture across the units and services amongst our missile defenders must propel above and beyond expectations rather than settle to sustain or be entitled to what has been done.  At the core of the mission is the invincibility of trust between those that command and those that follow the orders. This trust too is also critical between those that develop and test these remarkable technical systems and those that operate and maintain them to win against the threat, no matter what the conditions are.

We are privileged to honor the very best proven missile defense leaders of our nation for 2015 to be recognized by their leaders at the highest ranks of their services, demonstrating trust in the true leaders of the mission.
