Only six Republicans-Lee, Mike Crapo and James Risch of Idaho, Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Ben Sasse of Nebraska-voted against the bill. “But for the Department of Defense, the global security of this is extremely important”.

While most Republican senators – along with the women on the Armed Services Committee – agree that “every American who’s physically qualified should register for the draft”, the new policy has its fierce opposers. Even proponents of women registering for the draft should worry that physical standards will be lowered to accommodate women. No offense to the veteran, but there are a number of reasons why women should not be obligated to register for the draft and they are quite logical and simple reasons.
