Leadership of the Missile Defense Agency took time to honor winners in 43 categories at the 21st annual MDA Awards on May 29.
A 15-member board worked through more than 430 nominations to come up with the final names of those honored during the ceremony. MDA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Heath Collins presented the awards at Redstone Arsenal; MDA Executive Director Laura DeSimone gave the awards at Fort Belvoir, Virginia; MDA Space Sensors and Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center Director Walter Chai handed out awards in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Sea-based Weapon Systems Deputy Program Executive Kristen Alvarez did the honors in Dahlgren, Virginia.
