Lockheed Martin will continue to provide development and engineering support for the missile defense system’s command, control, battle management and communications platform under a potential $870 million contract modification.
The Defense Department said Monday the modification increases the firm-fixed-price contract’s total value from $1.2 billion to $2 billion.
Work under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract also covers the provision of testing, sustainment, integration and fielding support services for the ballistic missile defense system’s Spiral 8.2-1 and Spiral 8.2-3 software.
The company will perform the work in Alabama, Virginia and Colorado through Dec. 31, 2021.
The Missile Defense Agency will incrementally commit fiscal 2015 research, test, development and evaluation funds to finance the task orders, according to DoD.
