The Missile Defense Agency has posted the first draft request for proposal for system integration, test, and readiness efforts in support of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense, a part of the U.S. ballistic missile defense system meant to target and eliminate intermediate- and long-range threats.

The SITR Program will cover integration and evaluation services for the GMD weapon system, next generation interceptor, and in-service fleet, MDA said in the beta SAM notice published on Friday.

Operations and sustainment of the ground weapon system –both of its legacy and future iterations– will also be provided under the SITR effort…
