FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Yesterday members of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce learned about a new initiative heading to Clear Air Force Base. In this week’s ‘Military Report’, we hear from Director of Business Development from Lockheed Martin, Richard Hagy on this new project.
Richard Hagy; Director of Businesses Development, Lockheed Martin>>: “This is an important place. This location, because of when things fly from Russia, China, North Korea, the flight profiles that they take to get to the continental US.”
The Long Range Discrimination Radar, also known as LRDR, is a Ballistic Missile Defense Radar.
Lockheed Martin has been contracted to design, develop, produce, test and deliver the radar to Clear Force Base. The LRDR will be implemented at Clear in 2020.
