Russian Strategic Missile Forces To Get New Remote-Controlled Mine-Clearing Vehicles In 2020

Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces are expected to receive new remotely operated combat vehicles and other advanced engineering armaments for improving manoeuvrability and survivability of mobile-based combat missile systems, in two years.

The SMF formations will receive about 20 Listva remote mine clearing vehicles, and about 50 engineering support & concealment vehicles by 2020, Moscow’s defense ministry said Monday.

The new remotely operated combat vehicle Listva detects mines using ground-penetrating radar and then uses ultra-high-frequency rays to neutralize them. It can detect mines and land mines at distances of up to 100 metres in the sector of 30 degrees. The vehicles will escort the Yars missile system.
