U.S. News & World Report:
The Central Intelligence Agency has set up a new center on North Korea, it announced Wednesday.
“Creating the Korea Mission Center allows us to more purposefully integrate and direct CIA efforts against the serious threats to the United States and its allies emanating from North Korea,” Director Mike Pompeo said in a statement. “It also reflects the dynamism and agility that CIA brings to evolving national security challenges.”
“Just as the threats facing our nation are dynamic, so too must the CIA continue to evolve to address them,” Heather Fritz Horniak, a CIA spokeswoman, told CNN. Former CIA senior analyst John Nixon told the outlet he expected the center to issue situation reports, possibly twice daily, for the intelligence community and the Trump administration, indicating round-the-clock surveillance.
