Winners of the 2016 Peninsula Missile Defenders of the Year. November 18, 2016.

“I hope that today will provide an opportunity for ROK-US ADA servicemen to develop a deeper friendship and a stronger alliance. Starting next month, I will be taking on the heavy responsibilities as the ADMC commander. I would like to use this occasion to express my desire to continue to bear fruit in ballistic missile defense and in dealing with North Korean nuclear threats through close coordination between th ADMC and the 94th AAMDC.

I believe that 2016 was a year in which ROK-US ADA servicemen displayed an unprecedented level of partnership.

Looking back on this year, North Korea continues to threaten peace on the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia with their development of long range missiles and nuclear tests.

We are living in a time where coordination and progress are more crucial than ever before in ROK-US combined ballistic missile operation that make use of these capabilities. I hope that today will provide an opportunity for ROK-US ADA servicemen to develop a deeper friendship and a stronger alliance. Starting next month, I will be taking on the heavy responsibilities as the ADMC commander. I would like to use this occasion to express my desire to continue to bear fruit in ballistic missile defense and in dealing with North Korean nuclear threats through close coordination between the ADMC and the 94th AAMDC.”

We were honored to host the 5th “Peninsula Defender of the Year” in Seoul, Korea recognizing the very best in Missile Defense for the Korean Peninsula for 2016 from the Republic of Korea and the United States of America. We honored 24 leaders of excellence from shooters to maintainers of missile defense systems for both nations for keeping safe 50 million people living in South Korea. The threat over the past year from North Korea has been the greatest it has ever been in its quest to attain nuclear status and ballistic missile capability. This partnership of trust between two nations facing a considerable escalating threat of North Korea has driven excellence in leadership and joint capability to win, keeping the Korean Peninsula safe. We give great tribute and appreciation to these warriors of both countries.
