Jane’s:
North Korean state media has claimed that an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) launched by the communist regime on 22 June was deliberately destroyed in mid-air after travelling just 150 km.
The Musudan IRBM – known in North Korea as the Hwasong-10 – was launched from a location near the east coast city of Wonsan shortly before 0600 local time, but the South Korean military classified the test as unsuccessful as it exploded in flight.
Just over two hours later a second Musudan was launched from the same area, reaching an altitude of over 1,000 km and travelling more than 400 km before landing in the Sea of Japan.
