LONDON—Britain’s Royal Navy has declared its MBDA Sea Ceptor ship-launched surface-to-air missile system operational. The system uses the Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM).
It is a derivative of the Advanced Short-Range Air-to-Air Missile (Asraam) that is now equipping several of the Navy’s Type 23 frigates, replacing the Sea Wolf missile for air and anti-ship missile defense. Firing trials of the new missile were carried out from HMS Argyll in December.
