Battle Creek Enquirer:
The Michigan congressional delegation is again urging the defense department to select Battle Creek for a missile defense project.
The Fort Custer Training Center has been designated as a possible site for up to 60 missiles, which are not equipped with warheads, but are designed to intercept and knock down incoming ballistic missiles.
In a letter to Lt. General Samuel A. Greaves, director of the Missile Defense Agency, the delegation cited recent threats to the United States as reasons for the project.
