ABC 13 News:

They’re nearly home!

Friday is homecoming day for the crew of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58).

The nearly 300 sailors provided ballistic missile defense for U.S. allies in the sixth fleet area during their six-month deployment to the 6th Fleet area.

During deployment, the ship took part in exercises with allied nations. In April, she fired her MK 45 5-inch lightweight gun during a passing exercise with the French navy Horizon-class frigate FS Forbin (620).

The crew made several port stops, where they met sailors from other countries and got a chance to experience different cultures.
