Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a potential five-year, $240M contract from the Missile Defense Agency to support engineering and integration of technical systems for the Ballistic Missile Defense program.
Contract work began Dec. 15 at a company facility in Huntsville, Ala., and will continue through Dec. 14, 2023, the Department of Defense said Friday. MDA will incrementally pay for the services with $54.9M in fiscal year 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
According to a FedBizOpps summary, Boeing will lead a consortium called the National Team-Engineering in efforts to help the agency incorporate homeland defense radars, mobile and space sensors and hypersonic threat defense technologies into the BMD system.
