LTC Bryan Tillirson ADA JADOC Officer of the Year 

2024 NCR Defender of the Year

LTC Tillirson was assigned as the Deputy Commanding Officer of Task Force (TF) Bulldog while serving in the 678th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, South Carolina Army National Guard.

His expert management of personnel in the command staff was instrumental to the success of the mobilization of Task Force Bulldog to the National Capital Region (NCR). He provided timely and accurate information on directives and initiatives for the TF staff sections to execute. His planning, preparation, and training, resulted in the successful certification, validation, and deployment of all unit members through a premobilization culminating training event. 

LTC Tillirson’s exceptional coordination with senior government and non-governmental agencies throughout the NCR resulted in robust relationships that ensured mission accomplishment. His unique ability to lead a complex and diverse staff towards a common goal ensured that the Task Force Commander’s intent was always met; to accomplish the mission and take care of Soldiers, Airmen, and Civilians wellbeing.  LTC Tillirson directed the assessment and implementation of numerous critical Tactics, Techniques, and Procedure revisions, each having significant impacts to the NCR Integrated Air Defense Systems (NCR-IADS) mission. 

Through his leadership, the TF identified key capability gaps as well as redundant and outdated information in the documentation and procedure process.  His efforts and attention to detail streamlined operations and resulted in an outstanding Operational Readiness Evaluation. His guidance and creation of multiple working groups, meticulous progress reviews, and efficient meetings were vital to the enhancement for future rotations.

Under his supervision and leadership, he ensured staff member’s continued personal and professional development, growth, and improvement. He went beyond expectations to equip, guide, and motivate Task Force Soldiers to set and achieve realistic goals. LTC Tillirson retires on 31 MAY 2024 with numerous awards and accomplishments, 28 years of faithful service, and a supportive family by his side.
