Russia’s Black Sea Fleet to get 2 cruise missile corvettes next year

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Russia’s Black Sea Fleet expects to complete the trials of two new corvettes armed with Kalibr cruise missiles and the sea tug Sergei Balk and accept them for service in 2019, the Fleet’s press office reported on Monday.

“Next year, there are plans to complete the construction, hold trials and accept two new small missile ships of various projects armed with Kalibr cruise missiles and the sea tug Sergei Balk for service in the Black Sea Fleet,” the press office said.

Currently, four warships and a boat are undergoing state trials and will enter service with the Black Sea Fleet soon, the press office said.

These include the missile corvette Orekhovo-Zuyevo, the patrol ships Vasily Bykov and Dmitry Rogachyov, the ocean minesweeper Ivan Antonov, and also a fast-speed transportation and landing boat of a new project, the Fleet’s press office reported.
