Russian nuclear-powered missile cruiser to enter trials in 2020 after heavy upgrade

MOSCOW, January 17. /TASS/. The Project 11442M heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov undergoing repairs and heavy upgrade at the Sevmash Shipyard will enter trials in 2020, the Shipyard’s press office reported on Thursday.

“The repair of the Project 11442M cruiser continues in the flooded basin. The repair, modernization and coating of the hull structures are over. Painting and insulating works on the external casing and the marking work have been launched. The warship is planned to enter trials in 2020,” the Sevmash press office said.

Sevmash also said it was building two series of the Project 955A Borei-A and Project 885M Yasen-M nuclear-powered submarines. “The warships Prince Vladimir and Kazan have entered trials. The nuclear-powered submarines practiced assigned missions at sea,” the Sevmash press office said.
