Russian cutting-edge frigate completes shipbuilders’ sea trials

MOSCOW, January 9. /TASS/. The second Project 22350 frigate Admiral Kasatonov built at the Severnaya Verf Shipyard in St. Petersburg in northwest Russia has successfully completed shipbuilders’ sea trials, Russian Navy spokesman Igor Dygalo said on Wednesday.

“The newest Project 22350 frigate Admiral Kasatonov built for the Russian Navy at the Severnaya Verf Shipyard (St. Petersburg) has successfully completed the first stage of shipbuilders’ sea trials at practice ranges of the Baltic Sea and has returned to St. Petersburg,” Dygalo said.

During the trials, the shipbuilders checked some of the frigate’s life support, propulsion and damage control systems and the autonomous operation of radio-technical equipment, communications, air conditioning and ventilation systems, and also the warship’s speed, maneuverability and lateral stability, the spokesman said.
